I noticed that this weekend it rained, a lot and with a lot of rain comes a lot of rainbows. So this weekend I tired to keep my camera with me so that I could capture each rainbow. Most of the pictures are from the Manoa/Saint Louis Heights area. The rainbows in Manoa were the first ones that I witnessed. Later, on the same drive home from Iolani I saw one more in Moanalua valley. Then, today I saw one driving into town this morning and then two more over my house in the afternoon. I thought it was so ironic that it rained so much, then created all these marvelous rainbows full of color (ROYGBV). We just painted a rainbow in our lab book and learned about color by addition and color by subtraction. We also mixed colors to see why certain colors create white, no light, or certain primary or secondary colors. In the rainbows I saw only red, yellow, a little bit of green, blue, and a hint of violet. I probably wasn't able to see the colors distinctly because I was in a moving vehicle. However, I was able to make the observation. Now, I no longer think of a rainbow as a place to seek out gold but rather a place to seek physics knowledge. I say highly cool stuff.
